These terms govern moving services booked with The Moving General. By requesting a quote or booking a move, you agree to the terms below.
Booking and Deposit
A $150 deposit is required to hold your moving date and reserve a crew. The deposit applies toward your final invoice and is not an additional charge.
Estimates and Pricing
Local moves are billed hourly based on crew size, or on a flat rate for qualifying apartment sizes. Long-distance moves are quoted in writing before booking. Final pricing may adjust if the scope of the move changes materially from what was described at booking.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
Cancel or reschedule with at least 48 hours’ notice and your deposit carries forward to a new date at no charge. Cancellations made with less notice may forfeit the deposit.
Crew Conduct and Liability
Our crews carry $1M in cargo coverage. Any damage claims should be reported to our office within 48 hours of delivery so we can review and resolve them promptly.
Building Access and Compliance
Customers are responsible for confirming building access requirements, including certificate of insurance submissions and freight-elevator reservations, with enough lead time for our office to coordinate with building management.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on this page at the time of booking applies to your move.
